We're sorry things have been rather quiet here for a while but the people who do have been occupied elsewhere. Two committee members (Myke and Fred) have moved home, and Chris & Diane are about to do so.
Preparations are now under way for the 2015 Northern Trial, to be held on 14th February. It looks like the Forestry operations in Wythop Woods are going to deprive us of some sections there, however we have managed to locate replacements. I wonder where the Ospreys will live next year? We are always looking for possible new sections so if you know of any fields/woods/quarries etc that we could use, please contact Myke Pocock who will be very pleased to hear from you.

Finally the photos of The Border Reivers run have been uploaded, so head over to the pictures page to take a look! The inaugural 'Durham Dales Trial' takes place on Sunday 25th May. Like us with the 'Northern' they need as many marshals as they can find. If you aren't entering the trial could you marshal? It is an enjoyable thing to do, you're out in the fresh air, there are lots of interesting cars and bikes and you are giving something back to the sport. If you are able to marshal, please don't leave it until the day but contact Peter Sewell on 01388 747223 now.
Two teams of Fell Side members took part in the Land's End over the Easter weekend: Tony & Sally Branson and Derek Reynolds & Fred Mills, both in Marlins. It was not one of Tony's days and he was only able to claim a finisher's certificate. Derek reluctantly entered in Fred's Marlin but had such a good time that he claimed silver at the finish. It is down to a couple of restart officials to what he actually receives. There will be a full report in the next issue of 'Circuit'.
The Run is almost ready to go, just a few tweaks and some more questions to devise. Hoping for dry weather because the scenery on the route is stunning.
Following last year's very successful event organised by Chris and Diane, we have had so many entries that there are no more places left on the Border Reivers Run. If you still wish to join us please contact Fred on 0191 2532287 and we will put you on stand-by.
The next Club Meeting is at 8pm on Wednesday 12th March at the Lane End Inn. We will be discussing the Northern and how to proceed next year. If you intend coming please contact Myke Pocock on 01228 530555 or mykepocock@yahoo.co.uk.
Annual subscriptions are now due, a renewal form has been included with the magazine for those who haven't yet renewed their membership. The final results of the Northern are to be found the Northern Trial pages. The Provisional results are to be found in the 'Northern Classic Trial' page.
Thank you, everyone involved in helping us run the trial today, Marshals, Officials, Scrutineers, Staff at the Stocksman, and the Penrith Lions.
Also a very special thanks to all the competitors who came from all corners of England and joined us for an exceptional day's motorsport. Especially at this time when the weather has been so terrible in other parts of the country We had a successful day today setting up some of the sections. The weather up here has been relatively benign and promises to be a bit warmer tomorrow and Saturday. The sections today we set up today were wet and clarty but manageable.
