A huge thank you and congratulations to Chris and Diane; after a year of hard work; organising this year's treasure hunt, which featured spectacular weather, cunning and devious clues, and the most dramatic scenery anyone could hope for! Also a massive thank you to Bendles Solicitors of Carlisle, for sponsoring us, so that we could thoroughly enjoy a wine reception, back at the hotel. Also a huge thank you to Kentdale Landrovers, for providing us with a teddy for each car, and the biggest hamper we'd ever seen; which was won by our deserving winners, Clive and Brenda! Also thanks go to Lakeland Motor Museum, and café for hosting us on Sunday morning.

The PCT which was held on the 22nd of March was a great success, with very sunny weather, some super sections, and plenty of entries. To see the photos go here: http://www.fellsideac.co.uk/blaghill-blinder-pct-22nd-march-2015.html or alternatively go to pictures and then click on Blaghill Blinder. We all had a fantastic day and here are the results from the event:
The Blagill Blinder will be held on 22 March at Blagill, on the hillside overlooking Alston. The regs and entry form are in 'FORMS'. Blagill, March 2011
Dave Cook has come up north to our trial for several years now. His photos are always full of action and well photographed, this year was no exception.
You can find the 2015 collection at:- http://hoits.smugmug.com/Motor-Sport-Photos/Classic-Car-Trials-ACTC-Events/Northern -Trial-2015 You can, of course, buy them. They are very good value. We have the first of our photos of the 2015 Northern Classic Trial on the website now. Thank You to Keith Thomas for these photos. If you have any photos that you would like on the website please email them to fellsideac@gmail.com .
We were blessed with good weather for setting up today, and after lots of hard work the 2015 Northern Trial is ready to go. A big thank you to the forestry commission, who at very little notice cleared several trees to free up the area for our observed test (loyal drivers/riders may remember Lowry's). On Sunday, we took another trip into the forest, to check the condition of our sections, in the lead up to the trial, so a big thank you to everyone who helped out. We found that one of our sections (Lowry's) had a dozen fallen trees across the section. Thank You to the forestry commision who have cleared the track for us so close to the trial. We arrived at the top of Ullister Hill to find the beautiful scene that you see below.
The Supplementary Regulations, entry forms etc. are now available and can be found in 'FORMS'. As well as members of ACTC and ACU clubs we have specifically invited members of the following clubs:
VSCC, Wigton MC, Preston & District VCC, Durham AC, Leisure Lakes Classic Trials Club and Trail Riders Fellowship. Many thanks to the members who came along on Saturday to help prepare two new sections for the trial. They were, in no particular order:- John Grainger; Roy Glanville; David Sharp; Derek Reynolds; Alexander Jefferson; Myke Pocock Tony Branson; and Fred Mills. Six of them travelled from the north east and two came from Cumbria which seems a little odd for a Cumbria based club.
The sections were first used last month by the VSCC on their Lakeland Trial, unfortunately no one mamaged to make it off the start line and they were fairly rapidly cancelled. Hence the need for a working party, We levelled off the route by filling in the ruts and also created a run-off to take away the surplus water. These have the potential to be first class sections and really only need to be used a few times to bed them in. We have definitely lost the use of Wythop Woods and will be using sections in Hobcarton instead. There will be a club meeting on Wednesday 10th December at 8pm in the Howard Arms, Brampton. Please come along, we shall be discussing the final route etc for the Northern Trial. |
